Flying Witch ended as it began: a charming show that was a simple pleasure to watch. A show that always made me smile, and often made me laugh.
The humour remained understated, and casually delivered throughout, which speaks to the consistently high writing standards for Flying Witch. As the saying goes “Drama is easy, comedy is hard”, and making comedy look effortless is harder again.
Which is why Flying Witch has such a high rewatch value for me, and is the latest addition to my list of comfort or zone out anime.
For that matter, so is Encouragement of Climb.
Since it’s been three years since I last asked, what are your new comfort anime?
When you reach the point of saying “I need to zone out now, time to pull up X”, what are the new shows that come to your mind first?

Oh for the record, Chinatsu-chan is adorable. This is not subject to debate. 🙂

Natsume Yujinchou is my usual zone out though this season I think Shonen Maid has kind of done that for me.

I’m hearing a lot of good things about Shonen Maid, I might have to check it out (I think AnimeLab have it in Australia).

I’ve been watching on Anime Lab and while the plot is pretty slow thecharacters are pretty adorable.

Good to know. Does Anime Lab have Natsume Yujincho as well? I’ve vaguely heard of it.

Natsume is on Crunchyroll. I find it very relaxing and I love the positive feel most episodes have.

From the ones I’ve seen: Aria and Tamayura. Flying Witch is now added to that list 🙂
I heard great things about Non Non Biyori and so I’m going to watch it in the nearest future 🙂

ARIA is an excellent choice, and has long been on that list for me. Non Non Biyori didn’t work for me (although I’ve been thinking about trying it again), but it definitely qualifies for those that do like it. Tamayura I haven’t seen.

You should at least add it to your PTW list 🙂
There is short OVA (the first one), two TV series and four movies. I’ve seen only the OVA and first TV series, but I already love it and would definitely watch the rest 🙂
