Episode 1 of Tonari no Seki-Kun: The Master of Killing Time is short (~7 minutes), and funny enough I guess.
Well, it’s funny enough if you don’t mind laughing at Yokoi-san who is trying to do the right thing and being blamed for Seki-kun’s antics.
The problem, for me at least, is that the premise is too much like bullying for me to be comfortable with it.
So I probably won’t be watching any more of this because, entertaining as Seki-kun’s antics might be, it doesn’t seem fair for Yokoi-san to always be the one taking the fall.

I’ll keep watching it myself, but not if the whole “Seki is bulletproof but Yokoi gets called on all of it” thing keeps being a thing.

That sounds fair to me, please let me know if Yokoi ever gets a win.

The second episode didn’t involve the girl getting told off or anything, if you are interested.
John Samuel said:
Ok, I might take a look at it.

This show is great fun. Like any comedy, it has people being put down or suffering misfortunes to get a laugh. Having read the manga, Yokoi is hardly the only victim. I enjoy it as much as I used to enjoy Garfield in the old days.

I did take a look at the 2nd episode, but found it a bit… meh and didn’t finish it.
As time goes by I find I’m less and less amused by comedy that punches down.
Mocking the people in charge? Oh hell yes, I’m good with that.
Mocking the people on the bottom? Not cool, especially if it has sexist or racist overtones (which that sort of thing often will).
