There is a certain rhythm and flow to Canberra airport, from busy to ghost town. When the flights are running to Melbourne and Sydney every 30 minutes the airport (and the Qantas Club) are jumping, noisy, and every seat is full.
Then it’s after 6PM and suddenly… quiet. The number of flights drops away and the seats empty.
Although Canberra airport doesn’t have a curfew per se as far as I know, it does tend to shut down at around 9 – 10 PM. I’ve often arrived on the flight from Perth around then and there’s is echoingly new but empty ghost town of a terminal to walk through to baggage claim and the taxis. It’s an oddly eerie experience.
