This morning I amused myself, and anyone in the vicinity, at the Perth Ace Race at Perry Lakes Reserve.  An Ace Race is a Disc Golf course laid out with short holes and only one shot per hole.
Landing in the basket is an Ace, hitting the basket but not landing is referred to as a Metal (and was used as a tiebreaker at one point).

One of the first things I saw in my twitter feed this morning was the sad news from Bec that her beloved husband Mikey had finally succumbed to cancer.

It was peaceful, and Mikey was surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones when he passed but even so: this sucks.

This, and cancer, sucks like a black hole.

I cannot claim to have known Mikey as well as many, and I cannot hope to match the beautiful words of Stephen, Leece, Transcendancing, and Gina, but my thoughts are with Bec and her family now.

Fare thee well Michael, and a wind to your sails, you will be missed.

EDIT: I was’t able to get to Perth for the memorial service but Leece and Stephbg were there.

I have, with dalekboy‘s gracious permission, been attempting to upload a copy of one of his icons for my own use.

Every, single, time I click on the “Proceed” button I get a IE connection error.  If I try to load from the URL of the userpic, LJ says there’s an error fetching the image.

I am beginning to be more than a little frustrated by this.  Is anyone else having this problem?

Flights Booked

I will be in Perth from Christmas Eve to New Years Day.  The flights were somewhat expensive, but worth it to see friends and family.
