The Dirty Pair OAVs end with a pleasant enough episode in No Need to Listen to the Bad Guys. We are Space Truckers! but it isn’t anything spectacular.
A couple of drunk drivers, spacers, whatever, are on a trip whilst complaining about all the quitters leaving the space trucking industry. Shortly afterwards they find out why as they actually notice the incoming missiles on the radar before they hit. I’m surprised they were paying enough attention to notice to be honest. Whilst a touch on the obvious side, Red Eyes Are the Sign of Hell. Chase After the Killing Squad! is a solid episode with some genuinely creepy body horror, and that also highlights how ruthless Kei and Yuri can be.
Red Eyes opens in the dead of night panning over a rebel camp. The rebels are quite relaxed however and are hoping that it will all be over soon. They even joke about being able to go home soon. Continue reading
The premise of Robot Girls Z is to take the classic Go Nagai giant robots – Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, and Grendizer to begin with – of 1970s anime and apply the usual moe anthropomorphism to turn them into cute girls. Continue reading
