I commented on the ConCentric Games report to note that I’d played a round of Monochrome Chess.

Monochrome Chess really is as weird to play as it is to look at.

Remember the key points:

  1. You only control the pieces on your side of the board
  2. You can only capture pieces on your opponent‘s side of the board.
  3. This naturally implies that as soon as you capture a piece, your opponent takes control of the piece you used for the capture (see point 1 above)…

It was also quite fun, and I’d be willing to try it again.
